The reception is the most joyous part of the wedding day, during which plenty of quick steps dances are performed on the dance floor, guests joining either in pairs or in large circles to walk the entire dance floor. Hungarian wedding songs are divided in two categories: the songs meant to be performed inside the wedding ceremony when the bride is leaving home and goes to meet her groom, and the moment of vows exchanging which is also accompanied by nostalgic tunes of a violin and soft voice to hang to its rhythm, and the other category which encompasses the wedding songs with merry and lilted rhythms that describe the happiness of the married couple and of the guests witnessing these special event.

The tradition is the one that brings the folk music close to the displaying of each event, reflecting the feelings involved in the unrolling of the event, in emotional tunes which can bring both sorrows (that a bride leaves her parental home) and joy. The coloring of the wedding celebration is helped by the presence of music, next to the displaying of traditional costumes which are very colorful in their floral motifs representations as well as in the presence of different accessories to decorate the appearance of both the bride and the groom.

The Hungarian folk music is the one to incorporate a vast range of styles, the same ones including the famous ‘czardas’, ‘nota’ and ‘verbunkos’. One of the world’s renowned Hungarian musicians is Bela Bartok, the one that has inserted the sound of the folk music into the modern tones of abstract style of music departing from the traditional basis in his symphonic initial creations and reaching the sophisticated structure of contemporary classic symphonies. ┬áSome of his creation could be successfully introduced in the atmosphere of the wedding ceremony, since the presence of instrumental musical compositions can confer the ceremony the emotional levels where the act of joining two destinies can reach to.11
